Progress Summary:

The work hours are 9:30 am to 3:30 pm—Monday to Friday.

The contractor sets up and places the approved MOT signs before starting the daily construction activity.

Street parking is restricted in the work zone, and a temporary travel-lane closure begins at 9:30 am.

Tree guards are installed for tree protection.

Plastic barrier fences are used on the sidewalk side, and drums are on the roadway for pedestrian and vehicular traffic safety.

The full width of the sidewalk is available for pedestrians and businesses during construction.

Flaggers are assigned to assist pedestrians and vehicular traffic at the intersection(s).

The contractor has completed the underground conduit duct, installation of utility manholes, and streetlight and traffic signal foundations on Pennsylvania Ave between 2nd St and 6th St. The work on the intersections is in progress.

Work on the 600 block will start late November or early December when there is no outdoor seating, as agreed to with the stakeholders of that block. The project team will have an on-site meeting with the stakeholders to update them with the construction schedule in October.

The manhole, streetlight, traffic signal foundation, and underground conduit installation work at the intersection of 6th street and 7th St/ Pennsylvania Ave will continue in October 2021.

The work on Pennsylvania avenue from 9th street to 13th street will also continue in October 2021.

The work activities include road saw cutting, trench excavation, excavation for utility manholes, conduit installation, backfilling, road base, and temporary asphalt.

The contractor is working on Saturdays to install the streetlight and traffic signal on various locations at Pennsylvania avenue, SE from 2nd street to 6th street.
