Progress Summary: August 01 to August 31, 2022 

• Capitol Paving of DC. Inc. continued construction activities on Pennsylvania Ave SE, between 2nd street and 14th street, energizing intersections, removing streetlight and traffic signals, poles and removing their existing foundations, sidewalk repair and light pole marking.

• The work hours are 9:30 am to 3:30 pm—Monday to Friday. During milling and paving operations, the following hours apply: EB 08:00 am to 4:00 pm; WB 9:00 am to 7:00 pm; Saturdays 08:00 am to 5:00 pm.

• The contractor has set up and placed the approved MOT signs before starting the daily construction activity and are inspected for compliance. 

• Tree guards are installed for the protection of the trees. 

• Plastic barrier fences are used on the sidewalk side, and drums are on the roadway for the safety of the pedestrians, bicycle, and vehicular traffic. 

• The full width of the sidewalk is available for pedestrians and businesses during construction. 

• Flaggers are assigned to assist the pedestrians and vehicular traffic at the intersection(s).

• All underground work, streetlight traffic signal and traffic cabinets foundations, streetlight and signal poles have been completed.

• Installation of overhead hardware for streetlight and traffic signal have been completed.

• Street light cable installation has been completed

• Traffic signal cable installation have been completed

• Cable splicing in the mainline has been completed intersections for traffic cabinets is in progress.

• Installation of streetlight and traffic signal cables have been completed

• Fiber optic cable installation has been completed

• 50 Pair communication cable installation has been completed

• 100 Pair installation has been completed

• Work on streetlight conductor cable for twin 20 has been completed

• Traffic fixtures installation has been completed

• Milling and paving on Pennsylvania SE EB and WB has been completed.

• The delivery of Traffic Cabinets are still scheduled to be delivered 15th, November 2022. After delivery, completion will take approximately 6 weeks to swap the intersection. The final completion date is approximately December 28th, 2022.
